1. How are IHS services paid for?
Services paid for by the individual client, or the client’s family, or by long-term care insurance.

2. Are IHS Caregivers insured?
Yes. Caregivers are covered by worker’s compensation.

Is IHS HomeCare licensed by the state?    
Yes, IHS HomeCare is licensed as a Personal Care Attendant Service
by the State of Louisiana.

4. Can I chose my caregivers?
Yes. Caregivers are selected based on the clients needs, the Caregivers skill level and experience, and the compatibility with the client. Many times more than one Caregiver is compatible, and the client may have a preference as to which Caregiver he/she prefers.

5. Are IHS Caregivers certified or nurses?
Some IHS Caregivers are Certifies Nurse Aids, Medical Assistants, or Nurse Aids. Most IHS Caregivers are professional sitters, with experience working with seniors and hold no certification. Presently, there are no nurses employed by IHS.

6. Does Medicare/Medicaid pay for this service?
Yes. But IHS is not a Medicare/Medicaid provider at this time. If the client qualifies, they must seek another provider to have the services covered by Medicare/Medicaid.

7. Can services be paid for by Credit Card?
At this time, IHS Services cannot be paid for with credit cards. But in the future, this option will be available.

8. Can IHS Caregivers transport clients?
Yes. If a client has their own car, and maintains insurance on the car, then IHS Caregivers can transport clients.
